1. Scope

These terms apply to everyone who uses the app. The app is licensed under Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms supplement it with provisions about advertising, in-app purchases, and conduct. Applicable law and Apple’s terms may prevail where there is a conflict.

2. The app

Countdown is an auxiliary timer for setting durations up to 23 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds and showing the remaining time. It provides start, pause, resume, cancel, repeat, restarting from recent timers, theme and alarm sound selection, alarm duration, vibration, landscape lock while counting down, local notifications, and related features.

Features, screens, supported operating systems, and availability may change or end for improvement, maintenance, legal, or store-requirement reasons.

3. In-app purchases

The app offers a non-consumable in-app purchase that unlocks Pro features. Benefits include hiding banner ads, a custom theme with text color, background color, and font choices, additional built-in alarm sounds, and choosing an alarm sound from Music on your device. Music playback is limited to when the app is in the foreground and is not played by background notifications. The price, currency, tax, and terms shown on the App Store purchase screen control.

This in-app purchase is a one-time purchase. It is not a subscription, does not auto-renew, and does not include a free trial.

Apple processes billing, payment, refunds, and purchase restoration. If you have already purchased Pro, you can restore the purchase with the same Apple ID.

If the purchase becomes invalid because of a refund, revocation, or another reason, ads return and paid theme and alarm sound settings revert to options available in the free version.

4. Advertising

The free version shows banner ads on the timer setup and running timer screens. Watching an optional rewarded ad hides banners for 15 minutes. If that period expires while a timer is running, the banner returns after the next action or screen transition.

See the Privacy Policy for advertising data processing, ATT, and advertising privacy choices.

5. Prohibited conduct

You must not violate law or public order; interfere with the app, third parties, or its operation; gain unauthorized access; analyze, alter, or redistribute the app except where applicable law or a license permits; submit deceptive support requests; or otherwise misuse the app. If you choose Music as a completion sound, you must select only audio you have the right to use and must not infringe third-party rights.

6. No safety-critical use

The app is an auxiliary timer. Do not use it for medical timing, as a safety system, as the sole timer for a critical process, or where delay, failure, or a missed alert could cause injury, danger, or substantial loss.

7. Intellectual property

Rights in the app, website, logos, images, text, and related materials belong to the operator or their respective owners. These terms do not transfer rights beyond the limited license expressly provided.

8. Disclaimer

The app is provided as is and as available, without a guarantee of completeness, accuracy, continuity, or fitness for a particular purpose. Alerts and sounds may be affected by the operating system, device settings, silent mode, Focus, battery state, permissions, and Music library availability. Keeping the display awake may increase battery use.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not liable for loss arising from use or inability to use the app. This limitation does not apply where mandatory consumer protection or other law does not permit it.

9. Changes

The operator may change these terms and the app as needed for legal, product, or operational reasons. Material changes will be announced on this page or through an appropriate in-app method.

10. Governing law and language

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Japanese version is controlling, and where translations differ, the Japanese version prevails to the extent permitted by applicable law.
